Who We Are

John and Arceli Abernathy met at nursing school in San Antonio, Texas and have been nurses for 22 years. They’ve been married for 21 years and have a 20 year old son named Seth. They attended Rhema Bible College in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma in 2008-2011. John attended third year School of Pastoral Ministry and Church Planting.  Arceli graduated second year in Evangelism School and spent her third year volunteering at Kenneth Hagin Ministries Prayer and Healing School.

In July 2011 John and  his family moved to San Diego, California to assist a fellow Rhema Alumni to plant a church with his family in El Cajon. In 2013 they moved to Rosarito Beach, Mexico and were part of Calvary Chapel Rosarito until 2014. They relocated to Colorado Springs in May 2014 to attend Charis Bible College 2014-2017 to learn to teach the WORD OF GOD. John and Arceli are both graduates of Third Year Ministry School. They are licensed ministers and received their Bachelors Degree in Biblical Studies through Charis Bible College, and both are ordained through their ministry GOD SPECTRUM MINISTRIES.

John and Arceli continue to plant house churches, Bible Schools and children Christian Schools in different parts of the world. The HOLY SPIRIT continues to open doors for them to partner and disciple pastors and their families and leaders in the WORD OF GOD. Using Facebook video calls or Skype to make disciple makers to build the Kingdom of GOD. Their hearts are to restore those that are in darkness back to Sonship and to build up the persecuted churches for the greatest harvest the world has ever seen before the Second Coming of the LORD.

And because you are sons, God has sent forth the Spirit of His Son into your hearts, crying out, “Abba, Father!” Therefore you are no longer a slave but a son, and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ.

Galatians 4:6-7

Our Story

When they first started out in ministry, they were supposed to go to Brazil. Both John and Arceli were in their 3rd year Ministry School at Charis Bible College, in Woodland Park, CO. This was in March 2017.

A Baptist pastor from Pakistan, Brother Azam from Sahiwal, connected with Arceli and they started talking. One of the first questions the Holy Spirit prompted her in her spirit was, “Is he baptized in the Holy Spirit?” So she gave him some scriptures to teach him about the baptism of the Holy Spirit. She also gave him Kenneth Hagin’s book on baptism in the Holy Spirit.

Three days later he called back, saying he was ready. She led him in prayer to receive the baptism of the Holy Spirit and he immediately started praying in tongues according to Acts 1:8 and 2:4.

This supernatural experience with the Holy Spirit made such an impact that his wife, family members, and church got baptized in the Holy Spirit shortly afterwards. And their church and influence started to grow.

John and Arceli continued to pray for them and teach them. Many of the people had nightmares because of the torment and oppression they were experiencing due to persecutions and mandatory state religion that is enforced in their country. As they accepted Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior and received the baptism of the Holy Spirit many were delivered. The church in Pakistan started doing bible studies, teaching the Word of God and doing discipleship. They went from one house church to three house churches!

During that time, another pastor from India connected with Arceli and they started talking. Brother Piridi was the son of a very established pastor, but she wasn’t aware of it. His father had been teaching in India for 25 years and had 300 pastors under him, all around the country. They called him Reverend Doctor. He had built up his ministry by doing bible studies with his leaders, growing house churches, and God kept multiplying their efforts.

She told him she was teaching pastors in Pakistan, and told him of what had happened there. The pastors from India had a strong desire and need to be taught, even before they started talking to Arceli, though she didn’t know it at the time.

His church had already been built up – he already had 30 pastors needing to be taught! She was shocked when he asked her what they should name their school. It became God Spectrum Ministries Bible School in Andhra Pradesh, India.

It was faith in the grace of God.  John and Arceli had said “Yes” to Pakistan, so God connected the need in another area with them.

The moment when God Spectrum Ministries became a ministry was when the bible school in India was opened.  Thirty pastors coming in from many different villages some up to 10 – 30 miles away! The ministry helped get them baptized, created connection for them, and established a relationship  for the persecuted church in that area of the world.

From here, God has grown and multiplied more and more opportunities for God Spectrum Ministries to create impact around the world. Through house churches, leadership studies, bible schools, and mobile Christian schools for children. Almost three years later, the ministry has planted or supported:

  • 6 house churches
  • 8 weekly leadership bible studies
  • 4 bible schools (1 in Pakistan, 2 in India, and 1 in Uganda)
  • 3 christian schools for children & youth
The churches also do:
  • women’s ministry to reach oppressed women in dangerous parts of the world
  • music ministry for the youth, teaching musical instruments and music to the children
  • distribute school supplies to villages and communities
  • stock up foodbanks to hand out food to the widows and the needy
A pastor in Kenya, Brother David, who grew up as an orphan, had also been running an orphanage with his wife, Sister Caroline. They have become part of God Spectrum Ministries in Kenya through starting a house church.

All because John and Arceli simply said “Yes” to God, even though they thought they were supposed to be doing something else. And that’s how God Spectrum Ministries got started.

Our Mission

Today, many people are living in the reality of religion and faith as they define it and not in true relationship or Sonship with the Father. Caught up in rituals, routines, and dead works, many believers have weak faith caused by cotton candy teachings and programs.

As a ministry and a body of believers, we preach, teach, and demonstrate the gospel of grace to restore people back into Sonship to allow them to live out the reality of living by the faith of the Son of God.

The three ways we accomplish this mission is by:

  1. Reaching the Nations by giving them hope through the Gospel of Jesus Christ
  2. Discipling leaders by teaching them faith in the Word of God and the power of the Holy Spirit
  3.  Sending leaders into their families and communities by showing the grace and the unconditional love of the Father

In order to teach Sonship we focus on four key aspects:

  1. Knowing the Father and your relation to him
  2. Knowing your dominion in Christ (what you have in Christ)
  3. Knowing your true enemy
  4. Knowing how to worship your Father in Spirit and Truth (trust and obedience to Him and his Word)

What We Do

Church Planting

We partner with pastors as the Holy Spirit opens the door. We disciple the pastors and leaders through teaching them the Word of God with signs and wonders, then we start church planting through starting house churches.

According to Acts 2:42: “And they continued steadfastly in the apostles’ doctrine and fellowship, in the breaking of bread, and in prayers.”

Bible Schools

At weekly bible studies, pastors continue to get discipled and taught the Word of God – because that’s how people are led astray, when they dont know the Word. We connect with the house churches weekly as well on video calls to teach the Word.

The bible schools also pray for people and do outreach in their communities.

Mobile Christian Schools

These schools go village to village, teaching the children how to read. They also learn about Jesus and the Word of God.

They teach them to know the scriptures by doing action songs that the children participate in and perform in their communities. This helps them remember what the Word says and also have faith in Jesus by acting on the Word of God.

James 1:27 – “Pure and undefiled religion before God and the Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their trouble, and to keep oneself unspotted from the world.”

Our Core Values

Click on the core value below to learn more about who we are and what we believe.

We believe that integrity is a vital part of how we represent our Lord Jesus Christ to all those that we come in contact within our everyday lives. We will endeavor to keep a lifestyle of honesty and truthfulness. Consistency of character is our goal as we deliver on promises, keep our word and commitments and respect others on our team as well as those we are ministering to, remaining sincere and genuine. We are determined to take responsibility and have accountability as we watch over our own actions maintaining loyalty in all our relationships.

Scriptures: Psalms 25:21, Psalms 78:72, Proverbs 10:9, Proverbs 11:3, Proverbs 19:1, Proverbs 20:7, Proverbs 28:6, Titus 2:7

Being comfortable and confident in who you are in Christ is essential in walking in God’s grace, love, and forgiveness.  We believe true humility is expressed by thanking our Heavenly Father for our talents, gifts, and abilities by building up and edifying others, helping them see and fulfill who they are in Christ. Giving HIM all the credit, honor, and praise!

“The more you truly know God, the less you have to prove.”

Scriptures: Proverbs 15:33, 18:12, 22:4, Zeph. 2:3, Phil. 2:3, Col. 3:12, Titus 3:2, 1 Peter 3:8, 5:5, James 4:10

We believe that family is foundational to society and ordained by God. It is composed of persons related to one another by marriage, blood, or adoption.  Family is constituted by marriage, instituted by God between one man and one woman in covenant commitment for a lifetime. Revealing the union between Christ and His church, showing means for man and woman to have intimate companionship and procreation.  Giving this family unit the responsibility to have and to raise our children in the fear of the Lord. Families are to support, love and celebrate each member and their lives together.

Scriptures: Joshua 24:15, 2 Samuel 9:7,11, Ps 68:6, 107:41, 127, Proverbs 18:22, 22:6,15,24:3, 29:15, Romans 1:18-32, 1 Corinthians 7:1-16, Eph 3:15, 5:21-33, 6:1-4, Heb 13:4, 1 Peter 3:1-7

We believe that true generosity is unconditional.  This is not just pertaining to finances, but it may be applicable to one’s abilities, gifts, talents, and time. We are to live a lifestyle of generosity so loud that the world around us takes notice. For it is more blessed to give to our neighbors than to receive. Our Shepherd provides for us, so we give from HIS abundance. Not seeking anything in return, no thanks necessary. For we know that Love leaves you better than when HE found you.

Scriptures: Ps 23:1-6, 112:5, Proverbs 11:24-25, Matt 6:1-4, 19-21, 10:8, Luke 14:12-14, John 3:16, Acts 20:32-35, Romans 5:15, 2 Corinthians 9:10-15, Hebrews 13: 16, 1 John 3:16-18

We believe that gratitude should be the continual state of our lives for the sacrifice that the Lord Jesus made for us.  Looking to HIM the author and the finisher of our faith. Feeling a continual thankfulness and appreciation of what HE has done with no anxiety of trying to pay him back, but more so a response to HIS love for us, by allowing HIM to live and work thru us.

Scriptures: Psalms 100:4, 1 Thessalonians 5:18, Philippians 4:6

We believe that gentleness is founded on strength, sensitive to disposition, prompted by love, and kind in action.  Being right or in the limelight is not our main goal. Willingness to yield and being in submission to those in authority will allow the wisdom of Our Father to flow thru us to benefit and bless those that we are ministering to at that moment.

“True Strength is expressed in Gentleness.”

Scriptures: 1 Kings 19:11-13, Isaiah 40:11, 2 Cor 10:1, Phil 4:5, 1 Tim 3:3,2 Tim 2:24-25, 1 Pet 3:15-16

We believe that we must take actions now to secure a future for those that will follow us. Ensuring that we place the proper value and reverence on the Word of God and the Holy Spirit, living intentionally to build up the next generation.  Teaching and helping them remember the great goodness of Our Father in Heaven. Harvesting fruit that will remain.

“Seek the eternal, See the invisible, and Do the impossible”
